    Smokey Joe

    Description

    Built in Scotland during the late Victorian and early Edwardian eras, these small 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotives were mainly used as shunting engines in railway works yards around Glasgow, although they could be used for light passenger services as well. Known as ‘Pugs’, it was not uncommon to see these diminutive locomotives operating with a small wagon that acted as a coal tender.

      Es una locomotora de escala OO inglesa (1:76) que como sabréis comparte ancho de vías con la escala H0 europea. Funciona perfectamente, al menos sobre vías Fleischmann (posiblemente en vías Hornby pueda tener dudas sobre los corazones de los desvíos) y pasa sin pérdida de contacto sobre cambios normales y en curva, lo que me ha dejado muy satisfecho.
      Aunque la locomotora es muy, muy sencilla y se ha buscado la simplicidad y el bajo coste (de hecho no lleva ni el tornillo de sujeción al chasis e interiormente también se han prescindido de algunas piezas que si aparecen en el manual del producto) incluye 2 figuras a escala en plástico negro y pintada queda un producto de mucha categoría.
      En las fotos se observa el pintado del interior de la cabina, de las figuras, paragolpes, topes y farolillos traseros y dado brillo al carbón. El original es como se ve en la foto del producto totalmente negro.
